Xavier College is seeking a dynamic individual to join the Creatve Arts Department as a Technician. This role is be based at our Senior School in Kew. The successful candidate will be:
Self-motivated and energetic, with a background in the visual arts (including Drama, would be a distinct advantage)
Able to demonstrate a broad understanding of art mediums and techniques, including ceramics and kiln operation as a priority
Known for being rescourceful, organised and effective in identifying priorities and developing alternatives where necessary
A positive and professional communicator, known to display grace under (time) pressure and a solution focus
Passionate and accomplished in their field of expertise, enjoying the opportunity to meet students where they are at, in the context of their creativity and accomplishment
Able to adapt and engage with colleagues and students appropriately to help them reach the educational outcomes required
Able to provide reliable and high quality assistance and support to the team as required to meet deadline and standards
Able to collaborate positively and professionally with colleagues to achieve continuous improvement of work practices and safety standards
Rigorous in their adherence to Child Safety Standards and obligations under Ministerial Order 1359
Respectful of school policies and procedures while contributing to a positive learning environment and College workplace culture
Experienced in a similar position within the education sector (and experience as a Technician supporting a Drama Department will be an distinct advantage, although not essential).
