About The Role: 

The People and Culture Business Partner plays an important role in the People and Culture team, providing high-level support in organisational development. The People and Culture Business Partner facilitates the development and implementation of Employee & Workplace Relations strategies, policies and guidelines that will foster an effective and consistent approach across the College. The People and Culture Business Partner also provides support of professional growth, coaching and wellbeing initiatives, is accountable for leadership and collaboration on a range of industrial relations matters (including participation in enterprise bargaining and related matters), performance and conduct management, workforce planning and engagement in a range of People & Culture projects. Additionally, the People and Culture Business Partner provides support and advice on a wide range of People & Culture matters across the College.

Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management, Workplace Relations, or related field, or equivalent relevant practical experience.
  • Experience in leadership or a relevant position, ideally in an education or professional services sector.
  • A sound knowledge of current Workplace Relations practices.
  • Experience in performance management
  • Skills in policy development, coupled with an understanding of relevant legislative frameworks.
  • Knowledge of industrial relations frameworks and legislation, and familiarity in working with industrial instruments including awards and enterprise agreements.
  • A proactive, professional, and strongly client-focused approach with the ability to coach, influence and negotiate effective outcomes.
  • Proven ability to identify Workplace Relations issues and to recommend and deliver appropriate strategies and innovative solutions.
  • Well-developed people management skills, positive communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to act with and foster collaboration and effective teamwork.
  • Effective conflict-resolution skills.
  • Experience in building productive working relationships across a range of stakeholder groups.
  • Strong project management, planning and organisational skills.
  • Capable of effectively managing competing priorities.
  • Strong administrative skills and proficiency in the use of the MS Office suite.
  • A commitment to working in and contributing to the ethos of a Jesuit school.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and adherence to child safety principles, the Child Safe Standards, and contribution to an exceptional culture of child safety.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment that requires self-direction, team-orientation, and the ability to effectively handle pressure in a manner consistent with Ignatian values.
